2. Nicolaus Copernicus Nicolaus Copernicus was a native of Poland that wrote, On the Revolutions of the Heavenly Spheres. He was a mathematician that thought the geocentric system was too complicated and he believed his heliocentric which was that the universe offered more accurate explanation than the Ptolemaic system. 3. Galileo Galilei Galileo Galilei was a mathematician and was the first European to make observations of “the heavens” using a telescope. 4. Isaac Newton Isaac Newton attended Cambridge University where he became a professor of mathematics. Also he wrote the book Mathematical Principles of Natural Philosophy, this book defined the three laws of motion. He created the universal law of gravitation which tells why “planetary bodies” do not go in straight lines but continue in orbit around the sun. 6. William Harvey William Harvey was a very famous scientist who wrote the book,On the Motion of the Heart and Blood. In this book Harvey explained that the heart was the beginning point for the circulation of blood in the body. Also he proved that blood flows in both veins and arteries.
