27 = 3 x 3 x 3 1 How many pairs of 3s can you make? Therefore, √27 = √(3x3)x3 √27 = 3√3

7 What is the square root of 252?
252= 2 x 2 x 3 x 3 x 7 2 How many pairs of 2s or 3s can you make? So, √252 = √(2x2)x(3x3)x7 √252 = (2x3)√7 = 6√7
