3. What is an ORCID? Started as Open Researcher and Contributor ID (but now just ORCID). 16 digit number; groups of 4 digits. Controlled by researcher. Can suppress select data elements except the ORCID itself. Include with new publications to unambiguously identify the author. (e.g., Bell, D.is NOT Dorothy Bell or David Bell.)
