the splice applied only on one side allows thinner splices but the adhesive could get through the two edges of paper and sticks to the layer below

they may stay inside also for a long time before the reel is reprocessed (“PERMANENT” splice)

STATIC AND MANUAL: there is no need for a product with a very high tack; usually also a medium tack is sufficient
PERMANENT: none of the components of the adhesive has to migrate into the spliced paper (by heat and/or pressure); otherwise we could have a “bleeding” effect
