8. I know you are very young, but I will make you strong, I’ll fill you with my word; And you will travel through the land, fulfilling my command which you have heard.

9. A reading from the Gospel of Matthew 5:14 – 15 Jesus says: You are like a light for the whole world. Everyone can see a city that is built on top of a hill. You cannot hide it. No one lights a lamp and then puts it under a bucket. The lamp is put where it can shine all around for everyone in the house. Your light must shine brightly for everyone. When people see the good things you do, they will give praise to God. The Word of the Lord

10. Praise God! Praise God! Let’s give our God joyful praise! Praise God in God’s holy place! Praise God in the highest heavens! Praise God’s greatness and power! Praise God with the sound of trumpets! Praise God with the strumming of guitars! Praise God with the shaking of tambourines! Praise God with the clashing of cymbals! Praise God with the playing of violins! Praise God with our joyful dancing! Let everything that breathes praise God! Praise God! Praise God Psalm 150

11. God, our Father, listen to our prayers and grant us what we ask: Miriam saw what needed to be done and she did it. Help us to see the needs of others and make us people that that can be counted on and trusted. Samuel listened to the Lord speaking to him. Make us like Samuel so that we listen to God when he speaks to us through scripture and through our parents and teachers. When we listen, help us to do what we are being asked. David was a good King who wanted to please God in all things Help us to follow God’s ways and live accordingly.
