To know Christ as To know Him as Savior

Romans 5: 8 But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

To know Christ as my lord

1 John 2:3,4 “we know that we have come to know him if we obey his commands. The man who says, “I know him,” but does not do what he commands is a liar, and the truth is not in him.”

1 Peter 2:21 “Christ suffered for you, leaving you an example, that you should follow in his steps.”

Philippians 2:3-4 “Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves. Each of you should look not only to your own interests, but also to the interests of others.

Philippians 2:5-6 Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus: Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be grasped, but made himself nothing, taking the very nature of a servant.”

Why do we seek to know Christ?

Philippians 3:7, 8 But whatever was to my profit I now consider loss for the sake of Christ. I consider everything a loss compared to the surpassing greatness of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whose sake I have lost all things.

Philippians 3:8, 9 I consider them rubbish, that I may gain Christ and be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ—the righteousness that comes from God and is by faith.

Philippians 3:10, 11 I want to know Christ and the power of his resurrection and the fellowship of sharing in his sufferings, becoming like him in his death, 11 and so, somehow, to attain to the resurrection from the dead.

Philippians 3:7 But whatever was to my profit I now consider loss for the sake of Christ.

To Know Christ and to make him know

What does it mean to make him known?

We want people outside our church to come to know Him.

“Come, follow me,” Jesus said, “and I will make you fishers of men.”
Matthew 4:19 “Come, follow me,” Jesus said, “and I will make you fishers of men.”

how do we seek to Make Him known?

Matthew 5:14-16 “You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house.

Matthew 5:14-16 In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise you Father in heaven.”

"Preach the gospel at all times if necessary, use words."
How do we make him known? "Preach the gospel at all times if necessary, use words."
