4 World News Article Report  Turn and talk: share your article with a partner  Listen to World News Article Report Presentations

5 TED Talk by Malala’s father  What did you learn from this speech about how life is for girls in patriarchal and/or tribal communities.  How can you tell that Malala is this man’s daughter?

6 Girl Rising  Take notes on what this film teaches you about educating girls in different parts of our world.

7 Topic Discussions  Share what you learned from the last reading assignment.  Come up with a few level two and three questions.

8 Discussion  Summarizers summarize for us  Trackers create a level 2 or 3 question for the group.  Discussion groups:  Ask and answer level 2 and 3 questions.

9 Discussion  Discuss questions students bring to the group.  What are you learning about the different barriers to education that girls face worldwide.  Why is it important to educate girls?
