What is Naviance? The “Colleges” tab will allow students to explore colleges through various links

The ‘Colleges’ tab has 2 main subfolders: 1) My Colleges 2) College Research First, we will focus on the ‘College Research’ section…

The ‘College Research’ subfolder has 9 different sections students can explore

The ‘College Compare’ section allows students to compare various colleges admissions stats in one central location

The ‘college lookup’ tab allows students to search for colleges by name or by state (Once a college is looked up, it will compare the student’s GPA/test scores to the colleges admissions averages)

Naviance and College Applications 1.Naviance is a “holding tank” of transcripts, recommendation letters, school profile, Counselor evaluation forms. 2.Naviance keeps track of when a college receives transcripts/letters/etc.

Student Responsibilities Input Colleges into list Make note of deadlines, requirements (Letters of recommendation?) Ask teachers to write letters Not all schools want letters of recommendation (not required) Have SAT/ACT scores sent to the colleges (use the four free ones given when you sign up for the test!) Follow up with process
