1 Zebras By Amanda E. Herndon

2 What do zebras look like??
Zebras have black and white strips. The largest zebra is the Grevy zebra. They belong to the horse family. Zebras are about 4-5 feet tall and weight pounds.

3 Where do zebras live?? Different kinds of zebras live in different places in Africa. Zebras live in eastern and southern of Africa. They live in Somalia, Ethiopia, and northern Kenya. They live in grassy woodlands and open plains of East Africa.

4 What do zebras munch on??Also what do they drink??
Grass Bark Leaves Buds Fruit Roots And water

5 Zebra’s legs and hooves
To keep the zebras safe they kick with their hind legs. They can be fierce fighters. The hooves are small, narrow, and hard. This allows the zebras to run over rocky ground better than other animals. Zebras need lots of water. They sometimes use their front hooves to dig holes to get water.

6 Turning Ears Zebras have really good hearing. They can turn their ears in different directions to catch the smallest sound. Their hearing protects them because they’ll hear any other animals coming. It also helps the moms find their babies.

7 Can you see like a zebra? Zebra’s have great eyesight. Since their eyes are high on their head, they can see an enemy creeping up even when they’re bending down to eat.

8 Zebra’s Stripes & Speed
When zebras stand alone, they are easy to see, but in a herd their stripes confuse their enemies. Zebras escape predators by running very close together. Predators find it hard to pick out a zebra to attack. Zebras also use their great speed to out run attackers. When two zebras stand together, they face in opposite directions. They can see more predators this way.
