2 Teaching Objectives: ● Learn how to say goodbye to business partners and arrange departure for them; ● Learn what to say when seeing off business partners at airport; ● Practice listening for specific information; ● Practice communicating orally with business partners on the occasion of departure.

3 Introduction  After your business partners finish their task in you country, they are supposed to return. In this case, you should appreciate the fruits brought by his or her visit and wish he or she comes again one day. Also you should help arrange the departure, such as booking tickets, help checking out at the hotel, delivering the luggage, checking in at the airport. Your considerate arrangement will give your business partner a pleasant memory even long after he or she leaves your county and expects further cooperation with you.

4 Case 1: saying goodbye on the phone  You are the manager of a company, one of your business partners is calling to say goodbye to you. You express regret for his leaving and arrange for his departure. Also you tell him you will see him off at the airport.

5 Case 2 You are the secretary of ABC Company. You are seeing off Mr. Smith at the airport on behalf of your boss, who is having a meeting. Make an apology for your boss for his not coming and help Mr. Smith check in.

6 Case 3  You are the interpreter of ABC company, you come to the hotel to pick up Mr. Smith and take him to the airport. You help him deliver the luggage, check out at the hotel, and tell him your boss will go to the airport directly and see him off there.
