3 TEACHER PAGE Objective: This activity will help students think about characters. –Age and appearance –Personality –Point of View Activity: Students will write a paragraph about a character. They will share their paragraph with a partner.

4 TEACHER PAGE Procedure: 1. The students will view slides, discuss, and follow the directions. 2. They will choose a character and write a paragraph about the paragraph they choose. Additional activity: Students can graph the numbers of the 4 characters that their classmates chose to write about. Discuss which characters were the most popular and why.

5 Choose one of these characters. Describe what your character looks like.

6 What is your character like? Give your character a-- –Favorite color –Favorite food –Favorite activity

7 Name your character. Would you like to know this character?

8 Write a paragraph about your character.

9 Share your paragraph about one of these characters with a partner. Click for a sample paragraph.

10 Sample Answer – Jessie likes to read. She has brown hair and green eyes. She is a high school student. Her favorite color is green and she likes to wear green dresses. Jessie is friendly and smart because she reads so many books. I would like her for a friend because I like to read. Click for an additional activity
