3 What are the helping verbs? Well there are 23 different helping verbs and they are: am, are, was, were, being, been, have, has, had, shall, will, do, does, did, may, must, might, can, could, would, should.

4 What are helping verbs? Helping verbs are verbs that extend the meaning of the main verb by giving it detail. Or show if the activity was happening in the past or future.

5 Progressive Aspects When a verb ends in –ing this is when the progressive aspects occur. This aspect shows that an action is happening. (Am, is, are, was, and were) are used to create this aspect Here is an example. Fred is being silly.

6 Perfect Aspects There are three types of perfect aspects and they are; past, present, and future perfect. Past perfect- is used to show action that is completed in the past. Present perfect- is used to show action completed in the present. Future perfect- is used to show action completed in the future

7 Past perfect examples! She had stolen a car by then. I had been dreaming all night Can you make one? Help those verbs out!

8 Now some present perfect examples! Have you been working here long? Are you going to eat dinner? Now you try?

9 Future perfect examples! Jerry is not going to be at the party. What will we do now that Jack is gone. EXAMPLES!!!! JACK’S IM TALKING TO YOU

10 Model helping verbs! Helping verbs perform other tasks such as to modify the action or meaning of the verb. When they do this they are known as model helping verbs! Here are some examples to help! Sal can’t name the first president. You should go home and lie down. Now you try!

11 A final rule! The verb phrase can have no more than three helping verbs!
