5 CONTRASTING A CLUSTER MAP & A T-CHART CONTRASTS: THINGS THAT ARE DIFFERENT Claims can be phrases & incomplete sentences. ESSAY CLUSTER MAP ESSAY T-CHART CLAIMS MUST BE A COMPLETE SENTENCE. Warrants can be one word Cluster map is very, very skeletalIn a T-chart the writer develops the ideas mentioned in the cluster. A t-chart contains more information, specific details and and explanations WARRANTS SHOULD BE A COMPLETE SENTENCE. Evidence is often a single word.EVIDENCE IS OFTEN A SIMPLE PHRASE. In a t-chart you can fix those mistakes you notice in your cluster map. No citations or quotations at all. AFTER you have paraphrased your evidence in a t-chart, THEN you can add the cited quotations you will using to support your evidence.

6 Using your cluster map and the template provided, to create your t-chart. Requirements of an ESSAY T-CHART In a t-chart you develop the ideas from your cluster map with details, brief explanations and cite supportive quotations from the text.
