8 We are going to speak about the museums of Poretskiy region. I live in Poretskoe. It is an old village and it has a very interesting history. Poretskoe was founded (было основано) in 1591. There are many old historical buildings in my village the Gallery and the Natural History Museum. They are in a historical building, which was the house of a rich merchant (купец) Nazimov. This building is about 300 years old. In the museum you can see a lot of interesting documents, old things, photos and materials about the history and famous people. In the gallery you can see the works of our famous artists, such as Karacharskov, Kozlov and other Chuvash and Russian artists. The Museum of A.N. Krylov is in a small village Krylovo. Krylov was the famouse scientist and a shipbuilder (кораблестроитель). He was born and lived in our district when he was a child. He took part in creating (создании) warships (военные корабли) and submarines (подводные лодки).
