10 Fulfilling Commitments from Thailand Get an insight of the country’s gaps and solutions The 6 th AMCDRR is the driving force for upscaling/upgrading the country’s DRR efforts. Gaps identifiedSolutions Lack of DRR strategic communication Soft policy like DRR mainstreaming requires different measures/tactics Weak linkage of DRR, development scheme, and CCA Ineffective roles of the national platform Lack of a systematic and empowerment monitoring and evaluation mechanism No common language for DRR practitioners and concerned sectors Revisit and make appropriate change to the existing policy framework Develop a standard sets of DRR knowledge and information as a tool for DRR communication Strengthen close cooperation and engagement of the key sectors to effectively link DRR, development scheme and CCA Strengthen the roles and functions of the National Platform

11 Fulfilling Commitments from Thailand The new efforts for mainstreaming DRR The new national policy for DRM (2015) -From reactive to proactive with more focus on DRM and BBB -DRR (HFA) focal point built-in in every sector -National DRR platform will be a key mechanism for multi- sectoral engagement Developing a standard sets of DRR knowledge (as reference) -DRM terminology -DRR handbooks -DRM video animation Make known of the new global SDGs and HFA2 to other development sectors (in the light of the next national development plan) Developing the DRR Action Plan
