2 Question #1 Stereotypes and start of disease in 1980s Did "being gay" have anything to do with the spread of HIV in the 80s? Why did HIV and AIDS spread throughout the world in the 1980s?

3 Question #2 “And the Band Played On” Describe your emotions and feelings after seeing "And the Band Played On." (NOTE: this question is simply your reaction and does NOT require citations)

4 Question #3 Was there a missed opportunity to stop the disease? Do you believe America (actions/reactions of the government and/or its citizens) could have changed the current outcome and state of HIV and AIDS? How? Why did this not happen? What measures could have been taken?

5 Question #4 Discussion of protection and spread of disease among teens Why do students not discuss protection or birth control with their partners or friends? Does this impact the spread of the disease among teens? In what way(s)?

6 Question #5 HIV info and LHS How "HIV informed" is the Lenape High School study body? Why do you think this is the case?

7 Question #6 Impact of losing generations in a country Some countries around the world have lost (or are losing) two to four generations of its citizens. Find information about this. Discuss the impact that this devastation will have on the country (its future, its economy, its political system, its customs/lifestyle, its history, its preservation).

8 Question #7 Stories of those living with HIV and AIDS Find at least 2 stories by teens relating to HIV or AIDS (these stories can be personal stories of those who are HIV positive or who have been impacted in some way by the disease). Provide the citation for the stories. Discuss: How did the disease impact their lives? What is your reaction to the story?

9 Question #8 Image - Find a compelling image Find an image relating to HIV and AIDS. Do the following: (1) Properly cite the image using easybib.com. (2) Provide the link for classmates to access. (3) Discuss your opinion and/or reaction to the image.

10 Question #9 Map or Chart Find a map or chart that contains past and present information relating to HIV and AIDS. What can you infer from this graph or map or chart? Provide the citation and your interpretation of the information. HINT: Use media center databases (Facts on File Health Reference Center, EBSCO Student Research Center and E-books).

11 Question #10 Make a Difference! How can 1 person make a difference? What is 1 thing YOU can do to help with the HIV/AIDS epidemic?
