Research areas: l Fuel and fuel cycles l Other concepts to decrease the waste production

6 16.10.2002- Slide 6 Author D:/DATA/POWERPNT/Hugon/InnconceptsFP5toFP6 INNOVATIVE CONCEPTS Research areas: u High Temperature Reactors Research should include fuel technology, reactor physics, waste management, materials, components and systems, safety and licensing issues u Other innovative reactor concepts that offer long term benefits in terms of safety, environmental impact, resource utilisation and proliferation resistance u Heat application such as hydrogen production (limited to coupling with nuclear system).
