2. What the service provides: Free and subsidised assistance with environmental management to all businesses throughout Ayrshire. Reasons: Reducing costs Reducing environmental impacts Increasing competitive edge

3. How?  Review current resource utilisation and costs (e.g. electricity, gas, water, waste).  Working with businesses to develop and implement practical initiatives aimed at reducing waste and using resources more efficiently.  Advice on renewable energy, carbon footprinting and green products and services, thus promoting sustainability.  Advice on funding opportunities to improve energy efficiency.  Helping businesses contribute towards the conservation and enhancement of habitats and species (Biodiversity).  Support to develop Environmental Management Systems (E.g. ISO 14001, BS8555) where required.  Support for the Green Tourism Business Scheme.  Facilitating student placements for longer term projects.
