2. Slide 2 This section is about one of the most serious mental disorders, schizophrenia. In this section, it talks about the disorder, its characteristics, and its symptoms. It also talks about how bad it is and why treatment is so important.

4. Slide 4 Schizophrenia is a serious mental disorder characterized by unpredictable disturbances in thinking, mood, awareness, and behavior. Schizophrenics are rarely harmful to others.

5. Slide 4 (cont.) Symptoms include talking to yourself, exhibiting inappropriate emotional responses, dressing and acting strangely, and withdrawing from others. Some schizophrenics have irrational fears that someone or something can control their thoughts or wants to harm them.

6. Slide 4 (cont.) An example of a schizophrenic could be someone who talks to nonliving objects, withdraws from their friends, and fears their parents wants to hurt them. This is important to know so that people can prevent themselves from getting it, and getting treatment if they have it or someone they know does.

7. Slide 5  Once upon a time, in the sad town of Hemet, there was a girl named Terra. Terra lost her father two weeks ago, and she hasn’t been the same since. She has withdrawn from her best friends, started talking to nonliving household objects, having irrational mood swings, and having full conversations with herself. When her mother realized something was wrong, she told Terra she needed to get treatment. Terra freaked out, fearing her mother was trying to hurt her, and hid in her closet. Eventually, she came out, and her mother took her to get treatment for her mental disorder, schizophrenia. Terra has been recovering very efficiently.

8. Slide 6 I feel that schizophrenia is a very serious condition that everyone should take seriously. It can seriously mess up your health, mentally, socially, and even physically.
