3 Mind & Concept Mapping ▪ A way to express what we know and what we have learned about a specific concept. ▪ A way to generate our thoughts and ideas through verbal and visual expression. ▪ A way of remembering the facts of a concept, thus gain ownership of learning. ▪ Mind Mapping and Concept Maps are strategies to teach process of learning where there isn’t an emphasis on right or wrong answer. ▪ Mind Maps help to bring out the inquisitive nature of the student. ▪ Builds the acceptance of the learner, both individually and within class community.

4 Mind Mapping: Math Mind Mapping can be used as a Math strategy in which students can compute math problems or work analytically the properties of base 10. It provides a visual drawing of a math concept. This strategy can be used individually or in smaller groups.

6 Building Upon the Concept Map Previous Knowledge, Research, and Project Previous Knowledge Within whole class instruction, students generate thoughts on what they know. They write down their thoughts and add to the class concept map.
