3 Classwork Observe an intrusive rock and an extrusive rock (igneous rock). 1. Observe an igneous rock and compare/contrast it to a sedimentary rock.

4 Classwork 2. Read pages 154-155 from Inside Earth. 3. How is the formation of Sedimentary rocks different from Igneous rocks?

5 CLASSWORK Follow the directions from your teacher to fold your foldable. Use information from pages 154-155 to fill in a definition for each word and answer the question at the bottom.

6 EXIT TICKET Observe the rock shown by your teacher. Use two of the following words to explain how that rock formed. Sediment Erosion Cementation Compaction

9 Classwork 2.Work as a class to order the events of sedimentary rock formation. (then fill in the sentences with our vocabulary from yesterday) (sediment, deposits, cementation, compaction, erosion)

10 CLASSWORK 3.Create a foldable with the four steps of sedimentary rock formation. A. Watch how the foldable is made B. Fold & cut your paper C. Fill in the blanks with the vocabulary (sediment, deposits, cementation, compaction, erosion) D. Cut the four steps and paste them in order E. Draw a picture for each step
