CHAPTER 8 PHYSICS FOR JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL VIII

LIGHT  Isaac Newton States that light is small particles that is called corpuscle  Other scientists, Huygens states that light is a wave, because the properties of light are nearly similar to sound wave’s  Maxwell states that light is an electromagnetic wave, because velocity of electromagnetic wave is equal to light velocity, it is 3 × 10 8 m/s.  Light is a an electromagnetic wave that on particular condition can act like particle

PHYSICS FOR JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL VIII LIGHT  PROPERTIES OF LIGHT a.As electromagnetic wave, so that it can go in vacuum space, b.Reflective, refractive, polarization, and flexible, c.A kind of energy form  REFLECTION OF LIGHT Reflection that occurs going on a rule called Reflection Laws there are two kinds of reflection of light : regular reflection, and diffuse reflection.

PHYSICS FOR JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL VIII LIGHT CONVEX MIRROR AND CONCAVE MORROR Convex mirror and concave mirror

PHYSICS FOR JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL VIII LIGHT REFLECTION OF CONVEX MIRROR  Incidence ray, normal line, and reflected ray are lying on one horizontal plane  Incidence angle is equal to reflected angle

PHYSICS FOR JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL VIII LIGHT REFLECTION OF CONCAVE MIRROR

PHYSICS FOR JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL VIII REFRACTION  Refraction of light is a refraction of ray because of going through 2 mediums that has different density.  Medium or optic substance is a substance that can be passed by light. Spoon looks fractured or curved because the ray of sun from the edge of spoon that goes out is refracted.

PHYSICS FOR JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL VIII LIGHT  Snellius Laws states as follows :  Incidence light, refracted-ray, normal line, lie on one horizontal plane  If the incidence light comes from less density medium to more density medium, the light would be refracted to approach the normal line  If the incidence light comes from more density medium to less-density medium, the light would be refracted away from the normal line

PHYSICS FOR JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL VIII LIGHT  Index of refraction shaft of light that passes through two different mediums causes the light refracted.  Prism prism is a transparent object, like parallel plan glass that its edge forms angle.
