10 Let’s do a GENRE sort With a partner, look at all the titles of the books on your table Make 2 piles: Which ones are fiction? ONE PILE Which ones are non-fiction? ANOTHER PILE  Read the back covers to help you make a decision  Now, with your partner, decide what specific genre each text represents  Check by opening up the book and looking at the text features  Reach consensus with your partner for each book
