3. The Horses History The history of the horse first starts with the Eohippus which was also known as “The Dawn Horse”. This horse was no bigger than a small dog (hence the picture). It had four toes and lived in the forest of North America. Next came the Mesohippus-then the Pilohippus- and then finally the modern Equus.

16. Foals Foals are the fun loving baby horses. They have a funny sticky up mane and are VERY lively. Foals are normally born in spring. As soon as they are born they try to stand up. This is for two reasons: 1. The preditor that would hunt them would go for the kill 2.
