Thursday, October 29 th  Take out your notebook and copper cycle lab papers  Go into the lab, take the mass of your final product, and throw it away in the trash right now  Write a balanced equation for the following:  A copper (II) nitrate solution reacts with aqueous sodium hydroxide in a double replacement reaction. The product containing copper is a solid.

Write a balanced equation for the following  Copper (II) hydroxide decomposes to form solid copper (II) oxide and water.

Write a balanced equation for the following  Solid copper (II) oxide reacts with a sulfuric acid solution in a double replacement reaction. Both products are aqueous.

Write a balanced equation for the following  Aqueous copper (II) sulfate reacts with solid zinc in a single replacement reaction. The products are a solid and an aqueous solution.

Announcements  Analysis questions due tomorrow  Quiz corrections due tomorrow  Quiz tomorrow. You should be able to  Write, interpret, classify, and balance chemical equations  Write out the chemical equations involved in this lab  Identify possible sources of error in the lab  Identify various pieces of evidence of chemical reactions  Heat, color changes, bubbles, etc  Study/test correction party in here after school today!  http://tinyurl.com/balancing-equations-phet http://tinyurl.com/balancing-equations-phet  Test retake deadline: Tuesday, 11/3  Tomorrow is the day before Halloween! You should totally dress up for school (just don’t cover your face )
