When teachers use the comic books to teach English for students in the class, they will be eager to participate and learn. Cary (2004) claims that the comic books are useful teaching materials for students. Besides, they can get students’ attention. The comic books can satisfy students’ different learning needs, and they also do not need a large amount of words for explanations (Thacker, 2007 ). The comic books are confirmed to have a useful guidance function in learning. In addition, they can help beginners to connect words and pictures. Reading them can interest and inspire students, including unmotivated students and excellent students.
