Al-Afnaan holds high expectations for everyone at the school to achieve great things, academically, behaviorally and socially Al-Afnaan Academy views the educational necessities to be instigated by a tripartite team - the school, the parents, and the community This institute in-shaAllah will offer a full academic curriculum (virtual homeschool) together with Hifz Al- Quran and Islamic Studies, along with some activities to inspire our students Monday – Friday Arrival 8:00 – 8:15 Dismissal 2:05 – 2:15 Saturday 8:55 – 9:10 12:20 – 12:30

4 Introduction Mission and Vision
The mission of Al-Afnaan Academy is to provide the Islamic, academic preparation that motivates students to attain the highest levels of deen and tarbiyah with proper quality education that empowers and advances students to reach extraordinary heights. Al- Afnaan Academy seeks the pleasure of our Creator by providing students with a quality education while instilling firm moral and ethical values so that they will become productive, upstanding citizens. The vision of Al-Afnaan Academy is to raise tomorrows young Muslims in a safe, Islamic environment in which students, parents, and teachers work to help the student reach their highest potential.

Al-Afnaan is dedicated to: Teach and instill Islamic faith, values and traditions Maintain an Islamic environment to achieve the above Provide a standard of education Teach our students to excel in their lives and activities Incorporate the recitation of the Noble Quran as a part of life Inculcate self-discipline in the students Encourage students to be ambassadors of Deen-ul-Islam Develop community and leadership qualities Build strong, moral character based on the principles of integrity, honesty, and sincerity, respect for others, property and other resources, coupled with a strong sense of responsibility.

6 Curriculum Islamic Studies
Islamic Studies is a vast field of study It includes: Aqeedah or the monotheistic belief system Ibadaat or worship Mu’amalaat or dealings Akhlaaq or morals Seerah or the Prophet’s (SAW) life history and Islamic history in general Study of Tafseer or explanation of the Holy Quran Tilaawah (recitation with Tajweed) Hadith or the Prophet’s (SAW) sayings These are only a few of the subjects Students 9th grade and above will be given a completely separate curriculum and platform in this subject area Part of the first year students course is outlined as follows: Arabic grammar Arabic morphology Quranic Tafseer Hadith Islamic Law (Fiqh) Spiritual Development

7 Curriculum Quran Hifz-al-Quran is an enrichment course, which will be open to those students who continuously demonstrate a strong desire to memorize the Quran. Students will have exams at the end of the semester. The care and respect of the Mushaf (the book of Qur’an) will also be emphasized, along with the regularity of its recitation. The focus is on Hifz (memorization of the Quran). The applicability and practice of Allah’s (SWT) commands are illustrated and emphasized. These teachings also strengthen the Islamic culture. There will be two approaches Full Hifz – Memorizing the whole Quran Part Hifz – Memorizing the last two Juz and important surahs

8 Curriculum Secular subjects
K – 5 Virtual Learning Academy Consortium (Calvert program) sets high and clear expectations fostering a culture of achievement. Timings will be set every day for students in Grades K – 5 to work on assignments. The teacher, based on how much is completed in class, may give students homework 6 – 12 Connections Academy is an accredited, online education program. Middle school students will be enrolled into Michigan Connections Academy (MICA), while 9th graders will be enrolled into Great Lakes Cyber Academy (GLCA), a 3 year high school program. These are the only two free branches of Connections Academy in Michigan. Note that if high school students are not able to be enrolled in GLCA due to space limitations, they will instead be in MICA
