Introduction The animal I researched is the Sea Otter. Sea otter is a mammal. I want to learn more about the sea otter, because sea otters look very cute. And also when I start flipping the pages I see pictures that attract me. I gathered some facts about sea otters.

An average sea otter is about 4 feet long. Females weigh about 45lbs, and males weigh about 65lbs male. Their fur is black, white, and Brown. The male sea otter’s lifespan is 10 – 15 years. The females lifespan is 15 – 20 years.

Sea otters live in San Nicolas in the Pacific Ocean. These are California sea otters. They live 15-23 meters down in the sea. Sea otters make their homes out of kelp. Each sea otter has an area to live, where they call a range.

Sea otters’ predators are bald eagles, killer whales, and white sharks.

Sea otters feed on crabs, clams, snails, and 40 other sea urchins. They use rocks to crack food open.

Because of the oil spill that from ships, sea otters’ fur get covered with oil, then they lick it, which causes them to get sick and die. Now sea otters are endangered.
