DRIS–BP TG report, Brussels, 11.09.2011 Sergey Parinov

For Board’s decision To create motivations for members, e.g. by publishing at the site and advertising by other ways their benefits from sharing data with DRIS- BP TG To give me access to eurocris.org CMS to publish current DRIS at TG web page. I will update it manually, while few records (17 now) To make now a strategic decision on DRIS requirements and configuration and wait with its implementation until motivations will produce essential DRIS input from members

DRIS missions To collect and make visible CRIS related state of the art To make visible CRIS related professional achievements of euroCRIS members (organizations and people) To improve public recognition, impact and re-use of materials collected in DRIS (circulation, promotion, relationships, etc.) Use DRIS for interoperating CERIF compatible CRIS

A list of approaches Public recognition of DRIS contents –registration of CRIS and related artifacts –permanent visibility on official web site –circulation among members, notification by interests profiles –address promotion by making semantic linkages with potential consumers Impact and re-use of DRIS contents –by making visible relationships that community creates between DRIS content and other information objects –acts as the catalogue or metadata for directing the interoperation (Keith)

DRIS at eurocris.org: scenarios 1.Simplest: centralized input, a static web page displays CRIS records, no links with Pers, OrgUnit, filter/search (17 records now) 2.CERIF database + centralized input of 3-5 entities + CMS + filter/search (for 17 records?) 3.Scenario 2 + decentralized input + external CMS + harvesting tool 4.Scenario 3 + tools for re-use (interoperation, decentralized semantic linking, etc.)

DRIS information objects (database tables and services) Types of objects –ResProduct-{CRIS, artifacts, etc.} –Pers –OrgUnit –ResPublication-{BP articles, etc.} –Linkage –more in the future Database services –Display records and their linkages –Navigation by records/linkages –Filter/search data/linkages –Update data (CMS) –Harvest data (external CMS) –more in the future

For making decision To create motivations for members, e.g. publish at the site and advertise by other ways their benefits from sharing data To give me access to CMS at eurocris.org to publish current DRIS at TG web page. I will update it manually, while few records To make now a strategic decision on DRIS requirements and configuration and wait with its implementation until motivations will produce essential DRIS input from members

My suggestions on DRIS requirements and configuration 1.What can be registered at DRIS: CRIS and related artifacts that can be re-used 2.A set of object types: ResProd, Pers, OrgUnit, ResPub, Linkage 3.Scenario 4: harvesting tool at eurocris.org, external CMS, etc. 4.Linkages as core entity (with ID) 5.A tool for decentralized semantic linking of all object types by any euroCRIS member 6.Semantic vocabularies covering all types of relationships, including impact, re-use, etc. 7.Monitoring service for tracing changes within DRIS (objects and linkages) to notify members and to collect statistics 8.Impact/usage indicators for CRIS and artifacts
