8. Set up a quiet, comfortable place to read Talk to your child about the books they are reading. Choose just right books in fiction and non- fiction (Not just the popular books). Visit your local library where they can read magazines.

9. Students will write every day between home and school. Establish a structure with a beginning, middle and end. Develop strategies for editing and revising written pieces. Develop pieces appropriate to tasks and audience. Produce the following: Narratives Persuasives – opinion and argument Informational

10. Go Math Problem of the day Modeled instruction on skill Brief activity in pairs/ groups to practice skill Activity to develop the skill (pairs/groups/independently)

Strengthen problem solving skills Strengthen basic multiplication and division skills Develop computational skills based on: decimals; fractions; area; perimeter; volume; circumference and geometry Explain their strategies through speaking and writing Students must learn their times tables. If your child does not know their tables, they must practice them at home every night for at least 10 minutes.
