3 Grant ranges: $250 - $2,500 Be aware that partial funding is a possibility Historically the majority of past grant awards have not exceeded $1,000. Double check proposal deadlines and “must be completed” dates on application

4 Be a qualifying 501 (c)(3) nonprofit Or be sponsored by a qualifying 501 (c)(3) nonprofit Address Culture: arts, heritage, or humanities Promote Linn County Cultural Plan Priorities (See slide six for a link to the full cultural plan) Demonstrate Benefit to residents and visitors to Linn County

5 You must be registered in the State of Oregon as a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization with proper tax ID This is your Employee Identification Number otherwise known as EIN # If you are not registered, you must find a registered organization that is willing to act as your fiscal sponsor.

6 Your project or program must advance the pursuit of at least one of the following: Arts – literary, visual, dance, music, drama Heritage – history, genealogy, ethnicity, diversity Humanities – creativity, inspiration, imagination

7 Increase Public Awareness of Cultural Resources Encourage Collaboration within and between Cultural Disciplines Enhance Funding and Access to Art, Heritage, and Humanities Activities Create a Lifelong Spectrum of Cultural Education Opportunities for all County Residents Click here for a copy of the full Linn County Cultural Plan

8 Be sure your proposal narrative clearly explains “who” will benefit from your project or program. Kids (note age group if possible) Seniors Families Specific ethic groups Poverty or Underserved ???????

9 Be sure your proposal narrative clearly explains “how” specific groups will benefit from your project or program. Education Collaboration Public Awareness - Civic or Social Development Individual or Community Enrichment ???????

10 Write Concisely – be careful of wordiness and redundancies Be specific – clearly explain and describe main points and support with evidence Organize – stay on topic in logical procession Let someone else proofread for clarity – you will always read what you thought you wrote Very last – check grammar, spelling, and format
