2 What are Ferrofluids? A Ferrofluids is a liquid that becomes strongly magnetized in the presence of a magnetic field.A Ferrofluids is a liquid that becomes strongly magnetized in the presence of a magnetic field. Ferrofluids was invented in 1963 by NASA’s Steve Papell as a liquid rocket fuel,Ferrofluids was invented in 1963 by NASA’s Steve Papell as a liquid rocket fuel, That could be drawn toward a pump inlet in a weightless environment by adding a magnetic field. That could be drawn toward a pump inlet in a weightless environment by adding a magnetic field.

3 How Ferrofluids work Basically, Ferrofluids contain magnetite.Basically, Ferrofluids contain magnetite. Magnetite can be prepared by combining the appropriate amounts of an Fe(II) salt and an Fe(III) salt in basic solution.Magnetite can be prepared by combining the appropriate amounts of an Fe(II) salt and an Fe(III) salt in basic solution.
