4. The Spotted Owl’s Life The Spotted Owl’s Life I, the spotted owl, am endangered because you humans are cutting down my home. My home is also being destroyed by forest fires, volcanic eruptions, and wind storms. You should also protect me because I eat varmints that destroy gardens and household items. Our species is also endangered because the Great horned owl and the barred owl our killing our babies and they are kicking us out of our homes. So we need a place to live. So please try to save us.

5. How to help an injured owl If the owlet is in a dangerous location, it can be picked up and moved to a safer location by nudging the back of its with a stick to get it to step up or by using leather gloves. Parents will not reject there young just because they were touched by humans. Any adult owl on the ground that you can walk up to needs help. First find a cardboard box that will be big enough to hold the owl without bending any feathers and tall enough for the owl to stand. Punch air holes in the box and put an old towel or a shirt in the bottom of the box. (a pet carrier covered with a towel or a blanket will also work). slowly approach the owl and toss a towel or a jacket over it.
