7 Grading Policy Assessments – 50% Quizzes – 25% Homework – 15% Classwork – 10%

8 LATE WORK *The earned percentage grade will be reduced by 10% for each day the work is late for three days. (Example: If a student earns an 80% on the assignment and it is one day late, the final grade will equal a 70%, with two days late, 60%, and three days late, 50%.) *After three school days, late work will no longer be accepted. *For AP classes, late work will not be accepted. *Absentee late work will follow district guidelines.

9 AP, Honors, and CP Each English class is designed to advance student writing skills, knowledge of literary terms, and ability to read prose and poetry critically. Annotation of text – encourages exploration and legitimate reading of texts, self-evaluation Literary Analysis – uses the elements of literature to argue thesis statements based on a more in-depth interpretation of text Vocabulary of the Week (CP) Article of the Week In-class discussion – clearly articulate ideas- synthesize with the ideas of others to amend conclusions
