The case study So we looked for different circuits that would match our purpose and studied the working of different circuits………… 12/8/2015M.SIVA KAMESWARA RAO's TEAM 6

The Conclusion…….. So, we made out that a monostable multivibrator would suffice And we need to give the trigger through output of a sensor whenever needed. ( we used IR sensor here ) 12/8/2015M.SIVA KAMESWARA RAO's TEAM 7

WORKING The circuit is built around a 3- pin IR IC receiver (Siemens SFH-506- 38 or equivalent) that can detect 38kHz burst frequency generated by a TV remote. Transistor T1 is configured as an open-collector output device to drive the buzzer 12/8/2015M.SIVA KAMESWARA RAO's TEAM 8

The output pin of IR sensor goes low when it detects IR light, triggering the monostable (1-second) built around timer NE555. The output of the mono toggles the J-K flip flop, whose Q output drives the relay through SL100 npn transistor (T1). 12/8/2015M.SIVA KAMESWARA RAO's TEAM 9

The circuit draws the power from voltage regulator 7805. 12/8/2015M.SIVA KAMESWARA RAO's TEAM 10 LED2, LED3, and LED4 are used to display the status of each output stage during circuit operation.

Transistor T1 is configured as an open-collector output device to drive the buzzer 12/8/2015M.SIVA KAMESWARA RAO's TEAM 11 Capacitor C5 is soldered close to the IR sensor’s pins to avoid noise and false triggering. Capacitor C3 and resistor R3 also avoid false triggering of m o n o s t a b l e NE555.

The monostable acts as a 1-second hysteresis unit to restrict the flip-flop from getting retriggered within one second. 12/8/2015M.SIVA KAMESWARA RAO's TEAM 12

THE PROBLEMS………!!! THE PROBLEMS………!!! This circuit is actually a copied version of EFY’s wireless switch. We removed the relay part and put the buzzer. But when operated it did not blow!!!!!! 12/8/2015M.SIVA KAMESWARA RAO's TEAM 13

Our efforts……  But we didin’t leave it in the middle(thanks to my team……)  We Studied that if we remove the relay there was a problem with ‘back currents’(we even now don’t know what this meant!!!!) and that speaker needs ac supply!!!!  So we checkedout and finally built the circuit  Now its our own project …….hurrah!!!!! 12/8/2015M.SIVA KAMESWARA RAO's TEAM 14

FINAL CIRCUIT DIAGRAM FINAL CIRCUIT DIAGRAM 12/8/2015M.SIVA KAMESWARA RAO's TEAM 15

Circuit test results When we tested the circuit, we got very good results and the buzzer blew off whenever the remote was used to detect. 12/8/2015M.SIVA KAMESWARA RAO's TEAM 16

Eaves drop But,as of now, we have a small problem that IR rays are highly directional So we need to check out in all directions for the objects…………. 12/8/2015M.SIVA KAMESWARA RAO's TEAM 17

Further improvements We are further working to incorporate BLUETOOTH so that we can easily locate even with a mobile phone!!!! 12/8/2015M.SIVA KAMESWARA RAO's TEAM 18 This may be very useful outcome………………… We hope a good results in our endeavor……………….
