2 Women in ancient Greece were sometimes allowed to take part in sport, except in Sparta, where it was believed that mothers who were tough and strong would be good Spartan soldiers. The events at Olympia were part of the Olympics.

3 Men did running, wrestling, chariot racing with horses and they ran on tracks and wrestled with no boxing gloves and they did sprinting,swimming, diving, and lots and lots of other things. And they did it naked!

6 The Olympics are like the Greeks because we did similar things like running and swimming. But we don’t do it naked we do it with clothes on. The Greeks did it naked because it was very hot!
