3 Exam-Style Question – Due Tuesday 27 th April Remind yourself of the extract from p. 450-452 in “The Time Traveler’s Wife”, dated Saturday, October 27, 1984. Discuss how mood and atmosphere is created in this extract. Go on to explore how mood and atmosphere is created in at least two other scenes in this novel and in “The Time Machine”. Use the cone to structure your approach Compare to the first time we saw these events from Clare’s perspective & the last time we see them from Henry’s older perspective. Select 2 scenes in “The Time Machine” when a similar mood is created. Analyse & compare in detail. Consider how narrative stance & voice as well as control of information affect mood & atmosphere as well as analysing on sentence & word level (including imagery).
