These campaigns lead to a higher general appeal to the public, which then gave the people more involvement in politics.

3. Triumph of the Donkeys From the elections of 1801-1840 all presidents were Democrats. o These presidents were criticized for their aristocratic ways. o Although they were aristocrats, these men appealed to the common people, so in other words this was “Politics for the People”.
