2 Introduction Medusa Once was a beautiful maiden, transformed into a Gorgon by Athena for lying with Poseidon in her shrine Pegasus was born from her body From Greek mythology

3 background Medusa was once a beautiful woman until she lied with Poseidon in her shrine. Athena became so furious, as her punishment, she turned Medusa into an ugly monster with snakes for hair. Anyone that looks into Medusa’s eyes turns to stone for eternity Medusa had two sisters, Sthenno and Euryale, both part of The Gorgons

4 Claim to fame Medusa can turn a person into stone just by looking into their eyes She is allied with her two sisters, both part of The Gorgons An enemy of Medusa is Perseus

5 Downfall Perseus was sent by Athena to find the Gorgons and bring back Medusa’s head. When he reached them, they were asleep. In order to look at her without turning to stone, he used a bronze shield and only stared at the reflection. When he had the chance, he beheaded her.
