2 The near future in Spanish is used to explain something that you are “going to do”

3 Example… In English you would say,
I am going to talk on the phone tonight. I am going to study for the test. I am going to go to class.

4 IR + a + INFINITIVE Formula
In Spanish, the near future is formed with a simple expression…. IR + a + INFINITIVE

5 Ir The verb IR means “to go” and is irregular.

6 Conjugations Yo voy Tu vas El/ ella/ usted va Nosotros vamos
Ellos/ ellas/ Ustedes van

7 To create the near future you simply
1. Conjugate the verb IR depending on the subject. 2. Follow it with “a” which means “to” 3. Lastly, add the verb infinitive or action that you will be doing.

8 Examples I am going to talk on the phone.

9 Examples I am going to eat dinner.
