2 ¨ Free-loan library of described and captioned educational media available to students who are deaf, blind, hard of hearing, visually impaired, or deaf-blind. With over 4,000 titles the DCMP is continuing to provide equal accessibility to these students and the professionals who serve them. There are no user-registration or service fees.¨ The Described and Captioned Media Program is funded by the U.S. Department of Education and administered by the National Association of the Deaf The Described and Captioned Media Program The Described and Captioned Media Program

4 The Described and Captioned Media Program The Described and Captioned Media Program The DCMP asked us to be part of their Advisory Board representing our community and supporting their effort to reach children, teachers and families from Hispanic origin.

5 DCMP- Dicapta: A Partnership Describing and Captioning Educational Media in spanish “ The ED supported cultural and linguistic diversity by mandating that 25% of the new captioned and described educational media distributed through the DCMP library should be made accessible in Spanish. DCMP members in schools that provide bilingual educational services, dual language programs, and transitional programming to instruction in English will have access to these newly selected Spanish-language media titles along with 220 previously captioned educational media.”

6 DCMP- Dicapta: A Partnership Describing and Captioning Educational Media in spanish Dicapta commitment: Dicapta will assist DCMP in determining the needs of ESL students. Dicapta will assist DCMP in selection of educational media. Dicapta will perform the Spanish captioning and description of DCMP media. Dicapta will support the promotion of the DCMP services. Dicapta will perform Spanish translation of various DCMP clearinghouse information on the subject of media access, as well as create original training materials.
