1 Course description Course: Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering Laboratory (생명화학공학실험 in Korean) Course number: CBE301 Credit: 3 Professor : Minkee Choi 3938/ This course deals with experimental techniques of chemical and biomolecular engineering and their implementations or applications into final products or processes. The scope of this course includes various key experimental technologies for the gas separation, polymer synthesis, enzyme kinetics, biofuel (biodiesel) production and process control. This course is designed to equip our Chem. & Biomol. Eng. students with the advanced experimental techniques and the concepts for the experimental design according to the final objectives or application. Only the students who are majoring or double-majoring ‘Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering’ can participate this class.

Orientation 2 Lecture 1 3 Lecture 2 4, 5, 6, 7 Experiments 8 Spring mid-term examination period (break) 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14 15 Final Exam ( we will have final exam for CBE 301) 10 weeks 5 experiments 2 set for each experiment 4-5 students makes a group, 20 groups will be made 10 groups can do experiments each week 40-50 students can do experiments each week Biweekly experiment  students can do experiment.

8 Assessment Experiment report: 60% Pre-report 20%
Pre-report will be evaluated by RA on the class day (10-0 point) Result report 40% Title, Introduction & objective, Experimental materials & methods , Result & discussion, Reference Deadline for submission: next class time RA will evaluate the report grading from 0 to 10 point and return the report at the next class time There will be a penalty in marks for the delayed report. Innovative ideas or opinions for the improvement of the experiments will be encouraged. Attendance and Experimental activity & attitude 20% Experimental activity & attitude will be graded from 0 to 10 by TA Being late will be penalted up to -10 depending on the delayed time. No cellphone during experiments !!! Final exam 20%
