1 Your Works Cited Page Documenting your sources MLA style

2 Directions 1. When you come to the end of your paper (as in your conclusion has been written), place your cursor at the end of the paragraph (conclusion) and hit “Enter.”

3 Directions 2. Go to “Insert”  “Break”  Hit “OK” for “Page Break.” 3.Center your cursor. 4.Type “Works Cited”

4 Directions 5. Hit “Enter.” 6. Change your centering to “Align Left.” 7. Type in your first source (the bibliography from the top part of your legal pad), alphabetizing your entries by the first word.

5 Directions 8. After typing the entire source, be sure to place a period at the end of your entry.

6 9.If your entry has continued on to the second line, move your cursor to the beginning of the second line and hit “Tab.” 10.If your entry continues on to line three, four, five, etc., follow the instructions for step 9. Every line after the first line should be tabbed over.

7 Helpful Hints  Alphabetize your list.  Every entry should have a period at the end.  There should be double space in between each entry.

8 Helpful Hints  The Works Cited page should be the last page of your research paper.  Check either “Works Cited Examples” or “Bibliography Template” for correct formatting.

9 Helpful Hints  See either “Sample Works Cited Page” by Ms. Robinson or “A Sample Works Cited Cited” to see a completed, correctly formatted example.

10 Danger—WARNING—Danger!!!  Do not list any source that has not been directly cited in your paper with MLA parenthetical documentation!  Your Works Cited and parenthetical documentation must match!
