6 Tables With Footnotes or Source Note To format tables with source notes or footnotes: 1. When you insert a table,include an additional row at the bottom of the table for the source note or footnote. 2. Merge the cells in the bottom row. 3. For a source note, type Note: or Source : as applicable in the bottom row ; then type the corresponding information for source note. 4. For a footnote, type an asterisk * (or another symbol) at the relevant point within the table; then in the bottom row,type an asterisk and the corresponding information for the footnote. 6

7 Table With Braced Column Heading A Braced Column Headings: 7 It is a heading that applies to more than one column.

8 Table With Braced Column Heading To create a braced column heading: 1. Position the insertion point where you want the braced heading to appear. 2. Merge the cells that will hold the braced heading. 3. Center the braced column heading over the appropriate columns. 8

9 Table in Landscape Orientation The default page orientation for 8.5 by 11-inch paper is vertical (also know as portrait).Sometime, however,the content of a document would fit better or appear more attractive in horizontal orientation (called landscape) 9

11 Multipage Table Tables should generally be formatted to fit on one page.However,if a table extends to another page, follow these formatting rules: 1. Repeat the column heading at the top of each new page. 2. Insert a page number in the top right- hand corner of the page header of all continuing pages, and remove the page number from the first page. 11

13 Table With Predesigned Formats Predesigned Table : It used to quickly refine the look and layout of a table and to format major table elements,such as title blocks and total lines,in unique ways. It helps comprehension by giving readers visual style cues for different content. 13
