6 SELECTION CRITERIA Course - large enrollments with very large sections or large numbers of small sections. More than one person should be involved in teaching the course. Course should face an academic problem, a resource problem or a combination of both. Course must be at the undergraduate level. Participants must be fully committed to completely redesigning and delivering a large enrollment course currently offered at a Missouri public four-year institution

7 FINAL PROPOSAL FORMAT Due July 15, 2011 Abstract Application Narrative – Redesign model: how you will embody the Five Principles – Changes to course structure – Learning materials: what you plan to use – Assessment strategy: how you plan to measure student learning – Cost reduction strategy: which one and what you will do with the savings – Timeline – Project budget (w/provost/VPAA)

10 HOMEWORK FOR WORKSHOP II Required Reading – Round I Redesigns: Lessons Learned – Round II Redesigns: Lessons Learned – Round III Redesigns: Lessons Learned – Increasing Success for Underserved Students: Redesigning Introductory Courses Draft of sheets 1 and 2 of the Course Planning Tool (CPT) – due 4/4/11. Workshop Presentation – A five-minute summary of your choice of model and how you intend to implement the “Five Principles” within it.
