BCE—Before Common Era (Ex: 23,000 BCE) CE—Common Era (aka AD) (Ex: 437CE) c. or ca. (lower case letters)—Stands for ’Circa’ which means “approximately” or “around” Examples: c1900 or ca. 430 How to read a credit line. 1. Name 2. Title 3. Year
