2 What You Already Know! 1. My students have a need. 2. I need to locate a source which will allow me to help them meet that need. 3. It is necessary for me to express the needs of my students in a way which will inspire a grantor to fund my request.

3 Tips All Grant Writers Should Know Ask grantor to help you meet specific student goals and objectives, which are measurable in terms of student progress. *Write grants to meet educational goals—NOT to obtain equipment. Example: Is your goal to obtain Nooks? Or is your goal to increase reading proficiency by using Nooks as a strategy?
