2 Property advertisments Explore the advertisements in pairs. What do you notice about: The language they use? The images they use? The message they are creating? The overall impression

4 Dramatise the scene Read through Act One, Scene One in groups of three Remember that you want to make a sale – so how should you act? Also try to notice the use of ‘sales speak’ whilst you read.

5 What’s the real message? Analyse the selected quotations from Act One, Scene One 1.Try to identify what the ‘real message’ is behind the words they are saying. 2.Try to link with things you know about Singapore and Singaporeans

6 The Agents & Boon the salesman “They are really the people you meet on the street – the people who annoy you” (Jean Tay) 1.Would you agree with this viewpoint? 2.What impression does she create of the property agents in this scene? 3.Is Boon the same or different?

7 Dunearn Condos Imagine Dunearn is being re-sold as condos. Write a short sales pitch, applying what you have learnt today about ‘sales speak’ to try and make them sound appealing.
