Would they be welcome there? ·What can we do? Can we let Haitians come to the U.S.? Would they want to? Why might people not want to “leave home?”

10 W hen there’s a natural disaster somewhere in the world, governments usually pledge support to other governments. This is a type of aid that is usually given in kind. Instead of just giving money to the people, they give soldiers, food parcels, emergency housing, planes for delivering aid, etc. What do you think the U.S. government should do to help Haiti?
