The job-seeking process is made more challenging both by the functional limitations associated with the disability and by negative or uninformed attitudes of employers and coworkers. The process requires patience, commitment, organization, and emotional fortitude. This type of counseling is often the primary focus of rehabilitation counselors. The goal is to help individuals obtain a job of the highest feasible quality within the shortest feasible time period.
